Round 2 | February 6, 2016 | Taft, CA
Taft is always a rough course, but it seemed like the holes at the second round of the MSR Big 6 Championship were on another level—depth-wise. I believe is was due to the recent rains, which made for a soft underbelly of soil, but whatever the reason, the holes and square-edges were DEEP! I don’t mind it rough; it makes bike set-up and line choice a bit more important, but when the sun starts to set on the pro race, the shadows begin to hide the holes, making it feel a bit like Russian Roulette when you’re trying to travel at speed.  This past weekend Gorman played host to the final round of the highly contested 2011 D37 AMA Big 6 GP series. The course was a mix of high speed 2 track, canyon single track and motocross terrain. Colton Udall and Timmy Weigand were on hand to race the open, 4 stroke and team race.
Timmy Weigand raced a Honda CRF450R and Colton Udall raced the JCR/Honda modified Honda CRF450X. Read the rest of this entry »

Colton Udall went 1-1-1, winning the Unclassified, Heavy Weight and 4-stroke Expert classes at the 37th annual Hilltoppers Big 6 GP in 29 Palms, CA this past weekend. The race course was very Baja like with fast bladed roads a paved section and a Motocross track a perfect fit for the Honda CRF450X.  Fallbrook CA 2/9/2011 – Beau Baron (#549) Roll Design/Elka/MCR wins the ATV Expert Class at the opening round of the Big 6 GP held in Taft, California.
The opening round of the Big 6 hosted at the Honolulu Hills MX course in Taft California was not all that unfamiliar with Beau Baron as he had just completed the opening round of the WORCS series which shared this very same track just 2 weeks earlier. Colton Udall primed for this weekends Glen Helen WORCS round!
Colton Udall has been a stalker on a mission in 2010. He, along with teammate Jeff ‘OX” Kargola, have earned themselves the points lead for the SCORE series that will culminate this November when the Baja 1000 goes from Ensenada to La Paz. This past weekend Colton lined up for the Pala AMA MX National where he took home 26th place overall with two great rides. Hope everyone had a great Fathers day! It’s a good week to go pick up a new Honda for your kids and spend some time riding together. The JCR/Honda boys spent some time riding together this past Saturday evening at the Prairie Dog’s MC night team race. The course led the racers around a 25 mile really fun loop.
