The Catalina GP hadn’t taken place since 1958. 52 years later, the small Island off the coast of Long Beach, California once again was the setting of this picturesque, historic event and had capital COOL written all over it. Victims Family Members to Join in Unveiling Ceremony Held in Conjunction with Opening of Expo

WHAT: Off-Road fans, racers, volunteers and friends and family members of the victims will gather on opening day at the 2010 Lucas Oil Off-Road Expo for the unveiling of the California 200 Memorial Monument, a large scale statue designed to honor the victims of the recent desert race accident where eight were killed and 12 injured. This unveiling will give families of the victims, supporters, friends and the entire off-road community an opportunity to reflect on this terrible tragedy. The monument is comprised of comprised of stainless steel and is eight feet tall. The public can all make their mark on the monument as well by signing the adjacent wall to show their support for victims and their families. After the public unveiling Saturday morning, the statue and the wall will remain on display throughout the weekend at the expo. Read the rest of this entry »

The Sand Sports Super Show is the largest dune and dirt sports expo in the world and is always a centerpiece event in DragonFire’s calendar. The RANCH-New Motocross facility set to open in August on the 20, 21 & 22 in Anza, California.

The Ranch ImageThis 700-acre facility will be called “The Ranch” and is designed and built by Marc Peters of Petersbuilttracks.com.

Five (5) Motocross tracks with terrain for all rider’s capabilities and equipment, from the Main track with four-five lines through every corner and 36 ft wide straight a ways. Legendary Glen Helen Raceway Set to Host Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series

Corona, California (August 2, 2010) – Legendary Glen Helen Raceway, globally recognized as the hub of West Coast motocross racing culture, will host its first Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series event, August 7th and 8th. Nestled at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains in Northern San Bernardino, the 256-acre facility has been the scene of numerous national and international motocross and off road racing events over its 25 year history.

In contrast to the scenic hill side setting Glen Helen provides, the unique, purpose built eight-tenths mile short course off road battlefield features a triple table top section, high banked turns and aggressive rhythm sections. While the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series makes it’s debut at the Glen Helen facility, the event marks the return to the venue for a pair of legendary motocross champions. The weather in Anza was completely opposite of the race two weeks ago in Milford. Instead of 30 degrees and snowing, it was 90 plus with the sun beating down; and no shade to be found. Most of the time sweeping all day Saturday is a disadvantage to a racer, especially if your race is late in the day. Kendall Norman takes his win streak to 13 in a row with a sweep of the AMA D-37 RUTS weekend!

Kendall Norman and Honda CRF450X have been on fire. It was no surprise for him to put in a dominating performance at the RUTS 23rd annual Meltdown Dual European Scrambles this past weekend located at Cougar Buttes in Lucerne Valley, CA. Saturday’s race consisted of 4 laps around a 10.5 mile high speed loop. Kendall took control of the race after the bomb and held it to the finish winning by over 5 minutes. Sunday’s race was 3 laps around a 12.5 mile technical course. Kendall grabbed the holeshot off the bomb and led it wire to wire finishing with a sizeable lead over second place.
