Bel-Ray Racing-Weekend Racing Wrap-Up – February 13, 2012

Round 6 of the 2012 Monster Energy Supercross Series took place on Saturday night in San Diego, California.

TwoTwo Motorsports/Bel-Ray Racing’s Chad Reed had always been the man to beat in San Diego, winning the main event a record 6 times in his career. After a confident win in his heat race, Reed was poised to add to that record. Reed took off well in the main event and settled into a 2nd place position. Keeping the leader in sight Reed was ready to make a pass if the opportunity presented itself. Just two laps from the end Reed made his move and briefly led, but eventual race winner, Ryan Villopoto, was able to get by for the victory. Reed ended the night on the podium for the 5th time this season. His well earned 2nd place finish keeps him in 2nd place in the series’ points standings, now 6 points away from the top spot. Ruppel has Successful Rookie Season in TORC PRO-Light

TORC LogoChetek, WI (December 19, 2011)  – After several successful seasons competing in the TORC Sportsman Super Stock Truck division, Eric Ruppel moved up in class to the V8 powered PRO-Light division with the purchase of a brand new Jenkins Brothers chassis as he and team engineer/crew chief Kent Kramer assembled their first true all out short course off-road race truck. Even without a true title sponsor, Ruppel Motorsports went work creating the Ford Ranger thanks to the assistance of product sponsors and local area marketing partners from northwest Wisconsin. Even with a limited budget Eric competed in ten rounds of the fourteen rounds of racing, finishing in the top ten eight times, including a season high sixth place finish during Round 2 in Red Bud. After running up front all weekend and leading most of the main event, Muzzy’s Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Robert VanBeekum finished in second place giving Kawasaki a 1-2 finish on the day.
