Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series Announces New Southern California Location – Glen Helen Raceway

(May 25, 2010) – Today, the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series announced that the August 7th and 8th, Southern California event, will be held at the legendary Glen Helen Raceway. The landmark facility in San Bernardino, California, has an extensive history of off road and motocross racing while hosting a multitude of national and international events.

Lucas Oil Executive-Vice President, Bob Patison, spoke on the agreement as preparations are already underway for the August race. “Over the years, Bud Feldkamp has built Glen Helen into a world class destination for motocross and off road racing. With this partnership, we are able to work together to build a unique, new, short course off road race track on the Glen Helen site that will have all of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing signature features that keep fans on their feet race after race. Sold Out Crowds Expected for Lucas Oil Off Road Racing’s Return to Surprise, AZ

Corona, Ca. (April 15, 2010) –  This weekend, April 17th and 18th, the Lucas Off Road Racing Series returns to Speedworld in Surprise, Arizona for rounds 3&4 of the short course off road racing series. The biggest stars in the sport are prepared to take on Speedworld with its fast, technical, mile long course and signature “mogul” section. While Surprise is quickly becoming a popular home to short course off road racing, the facility has expanded its seating areas in anticipation of another raucous, capacity crowd. This event will be the first of three Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series weekends filmed for national broadcast on CBS Sports.

The season opener saw motocross legend Ricky Johnson stake his claim on the 2010 Pro 2 Unlimited field with back to back wins on the tight Las Vegas track. Now, Rob MacCachren, who finished second to Johnson on both days in Las Vegas, will lead the charge to slow down Johnson’s dominance along with Bryce Menzies, Jeremy McGrath, Todd LeDuc and what looks to be the largest Pro 2 Unlimited field ever. TRUCKS:The Stars of Lucas Oil Off Road Racing are Coming to Las Vegas

(March 4, 2010) – On March 6th and 7th , the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series will be in Las Vegas, Nevada as the 2010 short course off road racing season kicks off at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. With an unprecedented group of entries making their way to Las Vegas for this event, the new track in Las Vegas will host some of the largest fields ever seen on the short course off road racing circuit.

Carl Renezeder completed his 2009 season by taking championships in both the Pro 2 and Pro 4 Unlimited truck classes. His Pro 4 U title defense begins in Las Vegas and with Pro 2 U driver Bryce Menzies adding a Pro 4 U to his arsenal, Renezeder finds himself facing an onslaught of contenders in the all wheel drive truck class where Jerry Daugherty, Kent Brascho, Johnny Greaves and Rick Huseman are all vying for their place in the Lucas Oil Off Road record books.  Read the rest of this entry »

Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series Inaugural Season Champions Crowned

Lucas Oil Off Road RacingCorona, California (November 3, 2009) – The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series concluded their successful inaugural season with the The Geico Powersports Primm Championship Showdown Presented by E3 Sparkplugs at Primm Valley Motorsports Complex in Primm, Nevada. With championships on the line in virtually every competing class, the final round of the short course off road racing series was broadcast on NBC on November 29th. The exciting action leading up to the series finale can be seen on SPEED Saturday, December 5th at 3&4 p.m. ET.

LOORRS PRESS RELEASE: Corona, Ca. (November 11, 2009) – The finale of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) inaugural season is coming to the Primm Valley Motorsports Complex in Primm, Nevada November 14th and 15th. The series returns to the off road track in Primm, the location of the season opener, where season ending battles for championships in virtually every class will be contested in rounds 11&12.

With his first visit to Primm this year, Robert Naughton immediately struck his claim on the Unlimited Lite field by sweeping rounds 1&2 at the first event. He ultimately relinquished his hold on the class in rounds 9&10 as Chris Brandt, with a season of consistent podium finishes, took the top spot heading into Primm.
