September 21, 2011 – Corona, CA – Over 50 miles of fresh cut single-track trail was made even more epic by Mother Nature, who was kind enough to dump a few thunderstorms on Anza, California the week before the VCMC Rawhide Enduro, and Husqvarna riders Nick Burson and Larry Roeseler were there to reap the rewards of the day! Burson took the overall win at the Qualifier-style enduro held at The Ranch MX Park on September 18, and Roeseler rounded out the podium in third.

“Especially because of the rain, it was awesome, awesome single track,” Roeseler commented, who had nothing but praise for the course. “Erek Kudla did an awesome job with the trail. It was like going to Tecate… without going to Tecate.”

Burson admitted it took him a while to get going on the technical course, but from the second test on, the Zip-Ty Racing Husqvarna rider bested the stacked field of riders, which included 10-time Baja champion Roeseler. “I was riding really good and didn’t make any mistakes all day,” Burson commented. “I ended up putting time on everyone. All the fast guys were together, and we all compared cards at the end of each test so I knew I’d beat them.”

Fellow Husqvarna rider and 10-time Baja champion Roeseler was among “the fast guys” at the event. “It was fun to be able to ride with him,” Burson said of Roeseler. “I grew up watching him as a kid, and he’s still riding really good. But I knew I couldn’t let him beat me because I’d never be able to live it down from Ty [Davis]!”

While Burson was aboard his Zip-Ty Racing TXC511, Roeseler was racing his TE310 dual sport, which, aside from a handlebar and suspension, was in box-stock condition.

“That 310 was the magic weapon for that race,” Roeseler said. “It’s got plenty of power, it corners fantastic, it’s light and nimble feeling on the trail. I was able to throttle it all day. It was just really, really fun to ride and the results showed.”
Zip-Ty Husqvarna’s Nick Burson took the overall win at the inaugural VCMC Rawhide Enduro.
“Marc and Stu Peters and their crew laid out an outstanding course for this event,” said Husqvarna National Marketing Manager Corey Eastman. “It’s an honor to have two Huskys on the podium at the end of the day. The Zip-Ty Racing TXC511 worked flawlessly, and Larry’s performance on a near-stock TE310 is testament to how great the bikes are right off the showroom floor.”

Next Race: September 24-25, 2011 – Glen Helen WORCS, San Bernardino, CA.
